Arrangement of relevant parameters
Solid State Logic has kept Blitzer's controls simple to navigate, but detailed enough to suit projects of virtually any type. Once you've established your proper compression ratio and Transient setting, adjust a little (or a lot!) of Drive to give your sound some analog character or completely limited degradation. You can level parallel compression and presence with the Mix control, or use Auto Gain to keep your levels locked to the selected ratio and threshold. Feeling adventurous? Turn on Blitz! and inject thunderous chaos into your project! As for responsiveness, dedicated Attack and Release buttons determine how your compression or limiting effect will interact with your tracks.
Additionally, you will find a Detection Sidechain module at the bottom of the user interface. Here, you can use the High Pass filter to eliminate low-frequency intrusions that might detract from your carefully crafted compression effect, especially in pulsating areas of the mix like drum buses. You also have control over Frequency, Bandwidth, and Gain Level, providing an extremely convenient way to identify trouble spots in vocal recordings and more. And speaking of convenience, Blitzer's top layer includes useful Undo, Redo, and A/B comparison buttons, as well as a preset library that offers excellent starting points curated by Solid State Logic.
