Delivers authentic '73 British-style sounds
For recording aficionados, golden-era British consoles are the stuff of legend. The Super 8 offers eight 73-style, 3-stage Class A preamps — the gold standard for this type of sound. This 8-channel mic pre is boosted by Carnhill's exclusive custom input and output transformers, along with tantalum and Styroflex capacitors. In the end, not only do you get a generous 80dB of gain, but you also get the essence, vibe and feel of a vintage '73.
Packed with professional features
Many audio professionals are duly impressed with the sheer number of features packed into the Super 8's 2U rack-mountable chassis. All eight Super 8 pres include +48V phantom power, a Line button for line-level signals, a Phase for polarity inversion and a low-cut filter that produces a -3dB cut at 80Hz. Additionally, the first channels of the mic preamp are equipped with a lo-Z knob to accommodate low-impedance signals, a -20dB pad, a JFET DI, and a fully sweepable low-cut filter. One thing is certain: the Heritage Audio Super 8 will never leave you wanting.
Premium 24-bit/192kHz A/D Converter
Thanks to Super 8's high-quality A/D conversion, you'll find it easy to integrate this mic preamp into your studio. And with ADAT, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU built in, compatibility won't be an issue. This 24-bit analog-to-digital converter offers selectable internal sampling frequencies from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, plus can be synchronized externally via word clock. The Super 8 includes a per-channel selectable path to the converter, allowing you to send a pre-amplified signal to your DAW directly from its corresponding input or send a signal from an external source. This allows you to send a pre-amplified signal to another processor and then return it to the Super 8 for A/D conversion.
