Go "analog"
Professional analog recorders are highly valued, even (and perhaps even more so) in the digital age for the unique warmth, punch and character they convey. And in fact, professional studios often run their digital mixes through an analog tape generation to increase their weight and cohesion. IK Multimedia secured a late 60s AG440B in perfect condition and meticulously captured its sound using dynamic convolution and physical modeling. The results are breathtaking. Of course, you can fine-tune the machine with your choice of material and ribbon speed, as well as adjusting the bias and calibration.
Drill, glue and polish
The Tape Machine 440 delivers the unmistakable feel and color that have made this historic mixing and mastering machine an icon. From its solid, rounded bass response to its silky presence in the mids and highs, the Tape Machine 440 is ideal for mixing and mastering today's all-digital workflows, giving your mix that elusive, polished analog "glue" that plays directly into the speakers and makes it sound like a finished record.
