The new T-RackS EQual digital equalizer is an ultra-clean high-end 10-band parametric equalizer with extremely transparent sound, ultra-precise editing and a wide variety of filter shapes based on curves typical of classic British and American analog EQs.
This incredibly flexible “hybrid monster” gives you the best of both worlds – digital precision with transparent clarity and on-demand analog personality that works perfectly for both high-end mastering and individual tracks.
EQual opens with a flat EQ curve and shows the spectrum of your audio source in the background, and clicking anywhere on the curve creates an EQ band. From there you can select the format and type of equalization based on your needs with up to 10 bands in total.
Like most T-RackS processors, EQual allows operation in L/R or M/S modes, as well as independent channel equalization.
While you want to be careful with compression in M/S mode, in mastering, it is not uncommon practice to equalize the Mid and Side channels differently, for example, to reduce bass frequencies or enhance the perceived “air” in stereo content. while keeping the Mid untouched.
On the other hand, you may find the bass too prominent in the Mid channel or the vocals out of place. EQual lets you easily and effectively adjust any frequency-related issue with laser precision and fabulous musicality, no matter where you place it.
