The Dyna-Mu is an incredible emulation of a well-known American tube compressor celebrated for its warm sound and vivid timbre, and thanks to IK Multimedia's virtual circuit modeling, it is perfectly recreated and indistinguishable from the hardware.
This modern classic compressor has the ability to glue together the mix with incredible quality, as well as giving shine to individual tracks and is perfect as part of the professional mastering chain. Additionally, the saturation it produces when pushed to its limits can be used to add unique colors to your mixes as well as individual tracks.
Like most T-RackS processors, the Dyna-Mu has controls that work for both L/R and M/S channels:
Normally the Dyna-Mu will have a softer compression ratio of approximately 1.5:1 but when the HARD switch is engaged an average ratio of 4:1 is used. The HARD setting is perfect for individual tracks while the normal setting is better for mixes.
The GANG switch allows you to control both channels at the same time while the LINK switch controls the sidechain detection mode for both channels, which can be either linked or independent. The Side Chain (SC) switch inserts a subtle high pass filter so that the processor is less sensitive to frequencies below 100Hz, ideal for heavy kicks or deep bass in the mix.
