Fulltone Model Collection

Fulltone Immersion

IK Multimedia is proud to present the new Fulltone® Collection for AmpliTube for Mac/PC, which brings guitarists and all musicians a palette of essential sounds that range from the most classic tones of the past to the most modern waves.

Guitarist Michal Fuller founded Fulltone in 1991, with the goal of building pedals that sounded as good as vintage pedals, but were more robust and reliable than older, often fragile classics.

Today, Fulltone is recognized as one of the most serious manufacturers in the world, and IK Multimedia has teamed up with them to bring you the best recreations of 3 selected effects that you can now use directly in AmpliTube for Mac/PC.

"Back to the future"

The Fulltone Collection includes 3 powerful processors perfect for both music production and creative sound design. Whether you're a guitarist, keyboardist, composer, producer, sound designer or mixing engineer, you now have 3 versatile tools at your disposal to achieve your creative dreams. The Fulltone Collection is the best in terms of sound, feel and feel of the original hardware, but with all the practicality of the already known AmpliTube workflow. There's no limit to what you can do with the Fulltone Collection.

TERC – That 80's Rack Chorus!® That 80's Rack Chorus

Recreated by Fulltone and based on the original and practically impossible to find Dyno My Piano (sold during the 80s under names like Songbird or Dytronics), the TERC gives you the lush, expensive, immense and elegant sound that made it famous during the years 80. In fact, in the common sense guitar encyclopedia, only a few types of chorus have stood the test of time, and few are immediately recognizable in the sound of the world's greatest guitarists, but only one has actually achieved the status of “The Chorus of the 80s ”: this is the tri-stereo chorus. International musicians like Michael Landau, Steve Lukather, Dnan Huff and many other great session musicians chose him for a reason.

Preset MODE, when activated, creates a wavy, enveloping modulation effect, which is one of the most popular features of the original unit. Manual mode lets you experiment with different levels of intensity and modulation for the left, right and center channels, going from subtle to extreme, for a big, open sound that will put a smile on your face. Another peculiarity of TERC is that, Even when its modulation circuit is in bypass (with Preset and Manual modes off) the “non-modulation” state is reached gradually, creating a very subtle effect, reminiscent of the decelerating rotors of a Leslie speaker. As a result, the clean sound still has a unique flavor even if the chorus LFO is no longer modulating.

As a result, the clean sound still has a unique flavor even if the chorus LFO is no longer modulating.

But don't make the mistake of thinking that the “80s chorus rack” is just a nostalgic retro machine. Far from it. Take it to the extreme, use it on synths, vocals, and even drums (along with the SSTE for crazy effects) and basses and you'll understand. The machine remains modern to this day!

SSTE® – Solid State Tape Echo

It captures all the essence, warmth and vibration of the original vintage Echoplex EP-3 unit, but without its inevitable drawbacks (the original unit was very noisy, had low quality tape heads and produced a lot of “hum”, with the Fulltone's model solved many of these problems by greatly improving the machine's response and capabilities). We've recreated the SSTE in virtual rack format and added a convenient BPM sync function for advanced integration with DAWs.

Feeling creative? You can play with the tape head moving it back and forth to produce interesting bubbling effects, or you can “just” cascade more SSTEs, each set to a different tempo value and tape speed to achieve unique results. It's really a matter of personal taste but, more importantly, it's something you can do on your computer and without the hassle of real tape.

It does not stop there. You can take advantage of the tape's intrinsic idiosyncrasies to add authentic analog saturation to your sound, explore the harmonic personality of both the Fulltone and original Echoplex versions' preamps to add color to your tone, vary the tape's response for brighter or a smooth roll-off, or even saturate the signal with effect using the “record level” to control the tape and much more!
