VMR 2.0 – MIX BUNDLE ONE | The analog channel strip of your DREAMS

VMR 2.0 allows audio engineers to easily create the channel strips of their dreams using a library full of modeled analog plug-ins.

Choose from dozens of modules, including EQs, compressors, encharcers, filters, preamps, mixing consoles and more. But beyond the sound you can get with the VMR 2.0 and you also get the added bonus of speed and efficiency by having your entire processing chain in one convenient window.

The VMR 2.0 ships with the Mix Bundle One, which contains four Slate Digital processing modules: FG-401 Compressor, FG-S EQ, FG-116 FET Compressor, and FG-N EQ.

FASTER AND EASIER MIXING WITH DREAM CHANNEL STRIPS

VMR 2.0 opens with your own custom dream channel strips by default. Therefore, whenever VMR 2.0 is launched, the leftmost Dream Strip is loaded first. Now you can instantly start mixing with the modules you use most.

It comes with seven default Dream Strips, although you can remove them and create your own. You can change the vibrancy, color, and sound of your mix with a single click, and easily undo and redo your changes.

You can also easily see all installed processing modules in the Library Panel and simply drag and drop to insert them into the signal chain. You can also drag to reorder the modules as well.

With VMR, it's easy to clone an entire signal chain for comparison – just press the right arrow and everything currently in path A is copied to path B. Once cloned, you can change some parameters in the alternative path or even exchange entire modules. For A/B, the signal is chained, simply press the A or B button in real time to hear the signal chain in action.

You can load up to eight modules at once into the VMR, but it's still easy to isolate or mute any of the processing modules you've loaded using the Solo and Power buttons. Press the “S” on any module to hear it alone in the signal chain and press the “power” button to turn it off.

FG-401

The FG-401 started out as a recreation of the classic British console channel compressor, but it morphed into so much more. First, we gave it a variable attack and threw with greater range, which added more tonal options. After that, we added an input transformer stage – but not just any transformer, the famous British Class A console transformer! This adds a beautiful warmth and brightness to the compressor, and finally we've added a completely unique opto circuit path that provides an additional smooth, rich tone. The FG-401 is perhaps the most versatile mixing compressor in the world and can sound great on any source you feed it to!

FG-S

The FG-S is a digital recreation of one of the most famous British console equalizers from the 1980s. This equalizer features rich harmonics and interactive midbands with a fat musical tone. It's the ultimate workhorse mix EQ that can be used on any track – great for surgical cut strokes or wide bell and shelf strokes to make the drums and guitar hit the speakers.

FG-N

The FG-N is a digital recreation of one of the most classic British Class A EQs from the 1970s. Every aspect of the circuit has been modeled, including the rich harmonics and saturations that naturally occur when the EQ is in use. The original hardware only contained one midband, but we've added another to make the Brit-N even more versatile. This EQ is lush and fat, and sounds great on everything you send through it.

FG-116

The FG-116 is an accurate replication of the classic American FET limiter, and no expense was spared capturing every nuance of this incredible device. From the trademark timing features to the extremely musical sound of its transformer, the FG-116 offers engineers and producers the fat, musical tone that has made the hardware so famous. The FG-116 sounds great on everything from vocals and drums to bass guitars.

TRIMMER

The Trimmer is a useful module that performs some basic but essential operations on the Virtual Mix Rack: RMS and Peak Level Monitoring, a simple Trim control, and a Phase Reverse Switch. When used in the first slot, the Trimmer allows you to define how the signal will reach the next VMR module, with precise monitoring of the output level.

THE MONSTER

The Monster emulates the classic all-knob extreme compression sound of vintage FET limiter hardware. The “all buttons in” effect can be quite extreme, so we've added some very cool additional features that make this processor more versatile, creative and useful.

REVIVAL

Revival is the professional pipeline of years of research into what makes things look “better.” The team at Slate Digital looked at what was a classic analog piece of equipment that could turn tracks into audio works of art and broke the process down into two knobs. This might sound a little crazy, but wait until you hear Revival.
