Complete streaming and production on your desktop - Your podcasts are about to get an upgrade - the TASCAM MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42!

With its preset modes for quick setup and intuitive controls for straightforward operation, the TASCAM MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B is made for beginner and intermediate podcasters, gamers, and content creators who want to make their audio productions stand out on YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, and elsewhere in the online universe.

This desktop solution combines simple hardware with easy-to-use software, putting all the essential tools for podcasting, live streaming, karaoke, and broadcasting at your fingertips in a versatile interface that connects to your Mac or Windows computer via USB.

What's more, with a press of the Creator button, the US-42B becomes a powerful audio interface – letting you record vocals and instruments on your computer with studio-quality results.

The MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B is streamlined so first-time users can stream a podcast to two people in minutes.

It has inputs for connecting virtually any type of microphone or instrument to record you and your guest with clean, professional sound, and it has two headphone jacks that allow both the host and guest to hear each other clearly.

The US-42B lets you create a sophisticated, fully produced podcast in real time without having to focus on engineering.

Easy-to-reach controls and effects pads let you adjust levels, add reverb, instantly transform your voice, and even trigger fun sound effects like applause, horns, or music.

Plug in your favorite microphones and headphones and you're ready to hit the On Air button and start the show.

Turn Online into Showtime
This USB audio interface is designed to facilitate personal streaming with audio effects. The US-42B allows simultaneous use of two microphones and has selectable modes that support personal broadcast and production applications, allowing anyone to broadcast their programs to the world.
Add audio effects to engage listeners
Even with in-person broadcasting, audiences get bored with simple video and audio broadcasting. Skillful use of sound and video is necessary to elevate the professionalism of your programs and increase the number of fans. With a US-42B, you can achieve clearer sound and use special sound effects. The PON trigger function can be used to play clapping and shouting sounds like a TV show, and the voice effects can also be used to entertain the audience.
The unit has three PON trigger pads. You can press a PON keyboard to play the sound effect or other audio file assigned to it. You can use dedicated computer software to assign desired WAV/MP3 audio files to PON triggers by dragging and dropping them. Please note that PON triggers cannot be used when connected to an iOS device.
Use microphones for yourself and a guest
The appearance of the guests is standard on popular shows. On talk shows that invite guests, you can use separate condenser microphones for the host and guest and provide clearer sound to the audience. Using the built-in voice effects and audio adjustment functions, you can make different settings for each person to further increase the quality level of your program. Technically, you can also bring in a remote guest by connecting a cell phone's output to the auxiliary input. However, the caller will not hear your music or sound effects, and there is no mix-minus function to inhibit voice loopback.
You can use the unit's built-in voice effects to change the microphone input sounds by activating the effect button. You can choose between five types of voice effects according to the purpose of your program. Reverb effects add spatial sound and are useful when streaming singing and guitar performances, for example. Rotate the knob to add reverb to the input signals. You can change the reverb type and settings using dedicated software.
Stream your own singing and playing
Personal broadcasts of individual instrument performances and singing are also popular content on the Internet. You can connect a guitar and microphone to a US-42B, apply a reverb effect, and start streaming right away. Learn how to use the built-in equalizer and compressor to get high-quality audio like a pro.
Easy Karaoke
Connect an iPod or smartphone to the external input and sing along with existing recordings to bring quality karaoke to the world. Increasing the number of fans who watch your live performances is not a dream if your online content becomes popular when you respond to audience requests.
Create content anywhere
When you need material for your next program, hang the US-42B around your neck and head out into the world. Sit on a bench, open your computer and connect to the Internet. Just connect the US-42B via USB and that's it. As there is also support for connecting to an iPhone, you can build an even more compact mobile transmission system.
Produce audio for video
Sound presentation is important not only for personal broadcasts but also for video creation. Switching to Creator mode automatically changes settings to prepare the unit for use in creative work. The sound of vocals and instruments passes through audio circuits inherited from professional equipment, so you can get high-quality audio just by connecting microphones and instruments to the unit. Connect monitor speakers to check your recordings and start creating original music and audio tracks for videos.
Dodge function
On any live TV or radio show, it's not that easy to adjust the volume of music playback while talking in real time. With the ducking function, the playback volume is automatically reduced when the microphone input signal is detected. You can even select the music source in the settings.
Mode presets for quick setup
Between the Broadcast/Creator switch and the US-42B's mode presets, you can easily recall settings based on your purpose without having technical knowledge of the settings. Of course, you can also make your own preferred settings using the Expert tab.

  • Streaming Mode: Perfect settings for standard online streaming services. The loopback function is activated and microphone inputs 1/2 are automatically set to mono.
  • Creator Mode: Perfect settings for video production or music production using DAW software. The loopback function is disabled and microphone inputs 1/2 are sent to the computer separately.
  • Karaoke Mode: Perfect settings for online karaoke.
  • Conversation mode: When using Internet voice calling software, this is the required setting; it will automatically turn off the loopback signal in the app, so you can enjoy your voice calls without risking a feedback loop.
USB delay for audio and video synchronization
If you are using a webcam with a video capture card to stream over the Internet, the audio and video may be out of sync in your live stream. The USB Delay function allows you to adjust the audio signal to synchronize with the video. It creates an audio delay of up to 500 ms. Use this function when the audio signal is ahead of the video.
Direct Monitoring
There are different ways to monitor depending on the type of sound source recorded in music production. The Direct Monitor setting allows you to select mono for vocal monitoring or stereo for monitoring a keyboard or any type of instrument that comes with stereo inputs. Additionally, you can disable this setting when you are not recording.
Loopback and auxiliary input for BGM playback
Using the loopback function mixes the sound played from the computer (WDM) and sends it back to the computer. You can play program background music using music playback software (iTunes or Windows Media Player) already installed on your computer. As this loopback function is always activated, no special configuration is required. Additionally, the stereo mini auxiliary input jack allows you to connect an iPod or other portable music player for background music playback. You can also connect a synthesizer or other stereo instrument to the auxiliary input jack using a conversion cable (available separately).
Input monitoring for audio preview
The input monitoring method allows you to listen to audio using headphones before sending it to your computer. The input sound is always sent to the headphone output, so no special configuration is required to hear the input sound. The On Air button is a switch that controls audio transmission to the computer. Press the On Air button to start sending the sound you hear in your headphones to your computer. The button will light up when sound is being sent.
Lightweight design and strap accessories
The lightweight design of the US-42B units means you don't need to hesitate to take one with you. You can attach a commercially available camera strap and wear the unit around your neck. The microphone input jacks use locking mechanisms to prevent disconnection during movement.
Easy and Expert Modes
The Easy tab divides your options for manipulating audio into three categories: sound presets for your specific sonic setup, effects presets for manipulating your vocals when you press the effect on/off button, and reverb presets - types of ambience with which you can affect your vocals. Below these buttons, you can assign sounds to trigger pads and set the volume of each pad sound.
The Expert tab offers comprehensive controls for the US-42B's compressor, 4-band EQ, and reverb. In this panel, you also have control over the buffer size, as well as the ability to manipulate trigger pad settings. For example, you can set the rate of increase and decrease of the sample being triggered.
